The West Canada Creek flows from deep in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains. Welling from the West Canada Lakes Wilderness, home of the fabled hermit "French Louie", its cold mountain waters tumble down through the rugged glacial valleys winding its way over broken terrain and a boulder strewn bottom, past Fort Noble Mountain and into Kuyahoora Lake. Below the Kuyahoora it changes to a wider, more traditional river flowing over limestone beds with deep dark pools and through more settled surroundings. Winding through the farm lands and past villages of the Kuyahoora Valley, the amber waters eventually find their way to the confluence with the Mohawk River at Herkimer. The West Canada or West Creek as the locals call it, is one of the premier trout streams of the Northeast. Home to Brook, Rainbow and Brown Trout it offers a fly fishing experience that is unrivaled. Come spend time with our guides and test your skill against the many trout that lurk in the cold amber waters of the West Creek. The diverse nature of the West Canada allows us to provide you with the fishing experience that matches you. |
